The Summer Watch · In development

The watch I couldn’t find.

Easy to read, light enough for summer, and cleaner than the field watches I usually wear. The ones that came close never really lined up.

The readability I liked, cleaned up.

I like field watches because they do the main job well. You glance down and know what time it is. But I wanted something that felt a little cleaner than the field watches I usually wear.

The Summer Watch keeps the parts I like: big numerals, quick readability, and a no-date dial. Then it softens the rest with a lighter dial, cleaner case, and tan strap.

I started with the watch I wanted.

Wood Watch Co. started as a personal project.

I was looking for a light-dial watch for summer. Something clean, warm, casual, and useful. I found watches that came close, but they usually missed something. Too expensive. Too rugged. Too dressy.

So I mocked up the one I kept picturing and decided to get it made myself. Along the way, I figured I might as well put it out there. If other people are interested, I’d like to give them the chance to get one too.

The updates.

The watch is still in development. Right now, I’m working toward the first sample, so the final specs, price, and production plan are not locked yet.

I’ll update this section as the project moves along. If you want the updates directly, the waitlist is where I’ll send sample photos, spec notes, and first notice if a small run becomes available.
